Williamson County: Home to Top Youth Athletes

Different areas in our country immediately come to mind when thinking of hot spots for producing top notch athletes.  Although Williamson County is not one of the large counties like those in California, Texas, or Florida, it has produced youth athletes that are making their mark in National competition.  Last week, athletes from the Williamson County Track Club competed in New Orleans, Louisiana at the AAU Junior Olympics.  Joseph Emanaul Hall, a Franklin, TN resident took two gold medals along with his brother Chaz Hawkins who won one of his own.

Also, in the swimming world, Nashville Aquatic Club had several Williamson County athletes to rank in the USA Swimmers Top 10. recently.

Williamson County might not have the number of athletes as some larger counties, but there is definitely no lack of talent being produced here!

Williamson County Clubs continue to Represent the State Nationally

If you have never really delved into “club sports” you might not realize the hotbed it is of talented Williamson County youth athletes.  Many of us know of the top athletes in our county as being the stars on their high school teams.  While that holds true, there are many other extremely talented athletes in our state that are young kids who are tediously working themselves into the national eye.  This summer, Williamson County has had swimmers, volleyball players, and track athletes, to name a few, step into the national spotlight.

Alliance Volleyball Club’s 15 Mizuno team qualified for the highest level of play in the USAV Junior Olympics held just weeks ago.  Nashville Aquatic Club had several swimmers named to the USA Swimmers Top 10, and Williamson Youth Track Club has 57 athletes set to compete nationally at the end of July.

In a society where youth athletes face such a greater level of competition than athletes did years ago, it’s encouraging to know that some of the best clubs in the nation are in our own backyard.
